Arden Jaguar AJ 4
The company Arden in Krefeld/Germany, founded by Jochen Arden in 1972, is very well-known in the Jaguar scene for noble and powerful creations based on different Jaguar models and even some products of the sister brand Land Rover for some years as well. They constantly number all their car models from the start. A new copy of the Arden Jaguar AJ 4 may well cause a stir among fans, as the production of the base Jaguar XJ12 Series III ran out in 1992. Arden once created 234 copies of this sporty and luxurious sedan.
In recent months, customer requests for the reissue of some Arden classic kits have increased. This interest underlines once again a current market trend in the market of classic automobiles, which is more individuality. As a first reaction, Arden made a new AJ 4 based on a Daimler Double Six, the even more luxurious brother to the XJ12. This vehicle shines in a classic dark green, dispenses with any chrome trim and instead shows flat black trim and an Arden grille with a Jaguar radiator figure above it. The redesigned front spoiler achieves better cooling for the engine. The wheel arches are filled with large Arden-style 18-inch wheels with 245/45 ZR 18 tires.
Arden gained notoriety for his skills in performance upgrades. By means of classic tuning such as new intake manifolds with larger throttle valves, a new engine control system and a sports exhaust, the Jaguar experts ensure 320 hp and 438 newtonmeters of torque. In addition, a new four-speed automatic transmission is used, which ensures a possible topspeed of 238 kph (148 mph). Progressively wrapped springs and adjustable shock absorbers by Koni gently lower the AJ 4 and help to provide sporty driving dynamics with pleasant residual comfort. The brake system was also adapted to the additional power.
This 235th AJ 4 was already delivered to its happy customer in summer 2018, but the pictures have just been released. Other new classic conversions could follow shortly. If you are interested in such a vehicle you can contact Arden directly.
