Ferdinand Car Furniture by Magnus Berns

When a car is recycled, no part remains in its original shape. Therefore when individual components are used further, one speaks of ‘upcycling’. A particularly unusual form of this has been invented by furniture designer Magnus Berns. In his modelline Ferdinand he offers customers the opportunity to integrate old parts of their beloved cars or components of their dream cars in an unsusual design into the living room or other rooms of their home.

Particularly interesting are side tables with integrated storage compartments, which are closed with glove box covers. Parts of Porsche 944, Mercedes-Benz W114/W115 (better known as /8) or Volkswagen Bus T2 have already been used for this purpose. There are also sideboards, for example with glovebox compartments from the Citroën C6, shelves with the passenger-side dashboard planking of the classic Ford Mustang or large tables with recessed rims in the middle. He was also resourceful in the redesign of hubcaps to lids of self-made storage boxes. Further ideas can be implemented on request by the designer. Of course, different color designs of the actual furniture are also available.
