Lamborghini SC20
The unique Lamborghini SC20 was created by the racing department Squadra Corse on behalf of a VIP customer. In the near future, this unique supercar will share the garage with the SC18 Alston presented two years ago. This indirect predecessor was the first project of its kind from the Centro Stile Lamborghini. While it was a closed Coupé, the SC20 is a radically open roadster without a roof or windows. The Diablo VT Roadster concept car, the Gallardo-based Concept-S, the Aventador J and the Veneno Roadster were used as inspirations.
Aerodynamically designed
As with the SC18 Alston, the team led by chief designer Mitja Borkert used the Lamborghini Aventador as the base platform for the unique open-top model. In collaboration with the brand’s aerodynamic experts, carbon fiber was used to create an independent body shape that echoes the Sián FKP37 at the rear with its six taillights. The front spoiler with two fins and the air outlets in the front hood are found in a similar form on the Huracán GT3 Evo. At the sides in front of and behind the doors are add-on parts that Lamborghini fans already know from the Essenza SCV12. The wide rear wing can be adjusted in three stages and, together with the diffuser, provides plenty of downforce.
The paint color ‘Bianco Fu’ (white) was specially created for the unnamed customer. Some components were painted in ‘Blu Cepheus’ (blue) as an accent color, others show unpainted bare carbon fiber. Inside, Lamborghini continues the color theme. The seats wear leather in ‘Nero Cosmus’ (black) and ‘Bianco Lea’ (white). Exposed carbon is used for the instrument cluster cover, the rear panel, the door panels, the center tunnel and some steering wheel details. There are also all-aluminium door handles and 3D-printed grilles for the interior ventilation.
V12 engine from the Aventador SVJ
Directly behind the two passengers sits the 6.5-liter naturally aspirated V12 engine from the Aventador. Power output is the same as known from the Aventador SVJ, i.e. 770 hp and 720 newtonmeters of torque. A seven-speed ISR (Independent Shifting Rod) sequential gearbox transmits the power to the permanent all-wheel drive system. The 20-inch front and 21-inch rear rims with center locks are covered with Pirelli P Zero Corsa tires. As expected, Lamborghini didn’t provide any details on the price of the one-off.
