Aston Martin DBS 59
The first copies of the new Aston Martin DBS Superleggera have just arrived at the dealers and already there is a first special edition. But this one is not just any special edition, but a special commission by Aston Martin Cambridge, limited to just 24 cars and ordered at the customization department Q by Aston Martin. As a source of inspiration served the DBR1, with which the British sports car brand won the 1959 24 Hours of Le Mans with a double-victory. With this legendary model in mind, the 725 hp DBS 59 has been created.
For each hour of the endurance race in Le Mans there is one copy of this special edition model. From the outside, they wear paint in the color ‘Aston Martin Racing Green’, which also covers the air outlets in the hood and on the sides, while the roof, the roof strakes, the front spoiler, the diffuser and the rear spoiler lip show bare carbon. Bronze accents can be found on the Supperleggera lettering on the hood, on the Aston Martin lettering at the back, the grille surround and the Q badges at the fenders. On the front of the rear spoiler lip is a silhouette of the DBR1, while on the rear side, facing the traffic, the chassis number of the Le Mans winning car ‘DBR1/2-RB6/300/6’ is printed. On the fenders Aston Martin also paints a white circle indicating the respective limitation number.
