Aston Martin DBS Superleggera OHMSS

Aston Martin and James Bond. This pairing is natural to many car and movie fans, even though the famous screen agent didn’t sit at the wheel of a sports car from the British brand from the outset, nor in all of the other adventures. Nevertheless, almost everyone remembers Sean Connery in the DB5, Pierce Brosnan in the Vanquish or Daniel Craig in the DBS and DB10. In part, however, some forget George Lazenby, who became the second actor to play the secret agent in the sixth Bond movie ‘On Her Majesty’s Secret Service’ in 1969. He was replaced again by Sean Connery in the seventh movie, followed by Roger Moore. Another thing only remembered by diehard fans is the movie car of George Lazenby, the then new Aston Martin DBS with its angular design. Compared to its legendary predecessor company car DB5, the DBS is almost boring, because it didn’t get any special Q accessoires but a collapsible sniper rifle in a special holder in the glove box. In addition, the car is only shown four times in short scenes.

To mark the 50th anniversary of the movie ‘On Her Majesty’s Secret Service’, Aston Martin teamed up with film production company EON to create an exclusive special edition model based on the current DBS Superleggera. The OHMSS Edition is aimed specifically at James Bond fans. Based on the film vehicle, it also receives a paint job in ‘Olive Green’, combined with visual carbon fiber on splitter and rear spoiler as well as newly designed forged wheels with diamond-turned surface. At the front, a new grille insert with six horizontal vanes provides a visual link to the DBS from 1969. The inserts in the air outlets of the front fenders carry the engraved inscription ‘OHMSS Edition’.

For the interior, Aston Martin uses black leather and grey Alcantara, combined with red piping and red stitching. The sill plates show the James Bond logo and the inscription ‘OHMSS Edition – Hand Built In England – 1 of 50’. In contrast to the film car, where as described above a collapsible rifle was in the glove box, owners of the new DBS special edition can optionally order a drinks case that fits perfectly into the trunk. It’s covered in black leather, lined in red on the inside and can accomodate two bottles of champagne and four champagne flutes.

In total, only 50 copies of the ‘On Her Majesty’s Secret Service Edition’ of the DBS Superleggera will be produced. First deliveries are expected for Q4 2019. The price in the UK is £ 300,007.
