GTO Engineering California Spyder Revival
After GTO Engineering from Reading, Great Britain, already presented the 250 TR Revival, the 250 GT SWB Revival and the completely newly developed Squalo, the California Spyder Revival now follows. Once again, this is an accurate replica of a well-known Ferrari classic. This time the 250 GT SWB California Spyder from 1960 was used. The original came from the pen of Pininfarina and was manufactured by Scaglietti. A total of only 106 long and short wheelbase examples were produced. Nowadays, collectors pay eight-figure sums for these cars in good condition. Such prices aren’t charged by GTO Engineering. In addition, customers can realize their own desired configurations here.
Various configurations available
For example, GTO Engineering offers V12 engines with three, 3.5 or even four liters of displacement for the California Spyder Revival. For power transmission, manual gearboxes with four or five gears are available. This means that every customer is free to decide whether the resulting car will be designed more for fast touring on the highway or winding country roads. More than 1,500 man hours are required before each individual vehicle is on its wheels. In the process, the employees of GTO Engineering specifically incorporate their experience from decades of restoration work on classic Ferraris. For example, torsional stiffness is significantly increased by means of stiffer sills.
Debut at the Goodwood Revival
The entire production quality, including paintwork and leather processing, also benefits from this wealth of experience. All aluminium body parts are handcrafted. The Revival vehicles can of course be ordered in any desired paint color and with any desired leather coloring. Multicolored versions with Alcantara inserts are also conceivable. In front of the driver is a three-spoke sports steering wheel with a wooden rim. The GTO Engineering California Spyder Revival will make its debut at the Goodwood Revival from September 17 to 19. The price range is between £ 750,000 and £ 850,000, depending on the condition of the donor car, the desired equipment, local taxes and transfer costs.
