Lancia Delta Safarista by Automobili Amos
Vehicles from Automobili Amos have risen to legendary status after just a few years. In 2018, company founder Eugenio Amos announced the Futurista as a restomod based on the Lancia Delta HF Integrale. His heart has long been attached to this Italian homologation vehicle for the World Rally Championship. After the production was terminated in 1994, particularly the limited versions rose fast to collector items. For the Futurista, the less rare versions such as the Delta HF 16V are used and a total of more than 1,000 components are replaced and modified. In contrast to the original car, the five-door configuration was changed to three doors. Some customers around the world have now receoved their Futuristas. Now Automobili Amos presented some computer images of the wilder, off-road capable Safarista, which is to be produced in a limited edition from 2022.

In addition to the changes already known from the Futurista, the Safarista receives modifications inspired by that Delta HF Integrale with which Lancia won the Safari Rally in Kenya in 1988. For example, higher spring/damper combinations provide more ground clearance. Turboblades sit in front of the alloy wheels on the front rims, and red mud flaps are rolled up behind each wheel. The small, triangular rear-view mirrors already existed in a similar form on the original rally car. Inside, there are two sports bucket seats with four- or five-point seat belts, a full rollcage and a dashboard reduced to the essentials. A display is mounted directly behind the steering wheel. Instead of a center console, there are only a few buttons. The gearshift lever and handbrake are accessible via long handles directly next to the steering wheel. A spare wheel is located behind the seats. A maximum of ten units will be built for around € 570,000 net each.
