Tissot Alpine On Board Watches
Tissot is a well-known watch manufacturer from Switzerland. Together with the sports car manufacturer Alpine, they have now developed a unique line of wristwatches with a special feature. The ‘Tissot Alpine On Board Automatic’ can be worn both on the wrist and in the interior of the new Alpine A110. For this purpose, the housing-case can be easily separated from the bracelet. A special aluminium holder next to the central display then carries a bit of analogy into an otherwise relatively digital sports car.
The dial is reminiscent of the Alpine A108 and A110 Berlinette of the 1960s and 1970s, while the actual watch was heavily influenced by the Tissot PRS 516. Blue details refer to the typical racing color of France, which is also popular with today’s Alpine A110 as a paintjob. Inside the case sits the automatic drive Valjoux A05.H31, which also allows a stopwatch function. The pushbuttons built for this purpose were given the shape of engine pistons. The hour and minute hands are made of shiny metal, the second hand is blue and bears the Alpine logo on its short end.
Alternatively, Tissot and Alpine also offer the ‘Tissot Alpine On Board Quartz’ for friends of classic watchmaking. Again, the case with clockwork can be quickly released from the perforated leather bracelet and attached to the dashboard of the A110. On the black dial there are blue markings and orange-colored hands reminiscent of speedometers in Alpine sports cars of the 1960s. The blue hand for the seconds show the Alpine logo.
Both watches are waterproof up to a depth of 100 meters and carry on the holder within the bracelet the logos of the watch manufactory and the car brand. They can only be ordered as an option in combination with a new Alpine A110 and come in an exclusive presentation box.
